Globalization, de-globalization, and re-globalization: Some historical context and the impact of the COVID pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed many of the weaknesses in our current systems government and commerce. In this essay, I provide some historical context to recent era “hyper-globalization.” then present multiple factors—economic, social, political, technological, governance-related—that collectively explain why globalization peaked is on retreat. Following this, use analogy a three-legged stool importance recalibrating economy, state, society so as realize healthier alignment among them.
